The Republican Party of Iowa held District Conventions on Saturday, electing members to its governing board of directors, known as the State Central Committee.

Iowa GOP Chair Jeff Kaufmann remarked, “Co-Chair Hoefert and I are both humbled and honored at the results of today’s elections. For the first time in recent memory, a majority of the sitting SCC has been re-elected, with nearly two-thirds being returned for another term. The vote of confidence from Iowa Republicans across the state is a great sign that we are united in vision and purpose heading into the crucial elections this fall.”

Co-Chairman Cody Hoefert said, “Chairman Kaufmann and I congratulate the new and returning state central committee members and look forward to working with our new team to elect Republican candidates up and down the ticket this fall.”

Members elected today will take office at the fall of the gavel at the State Convention this May 21, 2016, and serve until the fall of the gavel at the 2018 State Convention.
