The Supreme Court when it struck down Texas’ HB 2 law left no doubt that it will bend over backwards to protect the Court-invented “right” to abortion. They have so moved the “undue burden” standard that they only use for abortion cases to ban states from requiring a surgical procedure (which abortion is in some cases) to follow the same standards as a surgical center.

So much for abortion being safe and Democrats cheered as they bow to Moloch.

Democrats have long pushed for abortion-on-demand at any stage of pregnancy so the idea of abortion being rare is anathema to abortion activists. Democrats don’t plan on stopping there, however, they are working to make you and I pay for those abortions as well.

The Democratic Platform Committee reported this week:

The platform goes further than previous Democratic platforms on women’s reproductive rights.  It champions Planned Parenthood health centers and commits to push back on all Republican efforts to defund it. The platform also vows to oppose, and seek to overturn, all federal and state laws that impede a woman’s access to abortion, including by repealing the Hyde Amendment.  It also strongly supports the repeal of harmful restrictions that obstruct women’s access to healthcare around the world, including the Global Gag Rule and the Helms Amendment, which bars US assistance to other countries that provide safe, legal, abortion.

I have to point out the irony while they work to expand the slaughter of unborn children, they want to end capital punishment of, in most cases, convicted murderers.

Recognizing the death penalty as a cruel and unusual form of punishment, the Drafting Committee unanimously adopted an amendment to abolish the death penalty.  This is the first time in the Democratic Party’s history it has done so.

I have my reservations about the use of the death penalty, but this is absolutely nonsensical.

On one hand they work to end a punishment our founding fathers were quite familiar with, and provided safeguards for – due process. Considering the methods available at the time the Constitution was written it is hard to see how the death penalty today is “cruel and unusual.”  Also those facing a death penalty do not receive it without due process being convicted by a jury of their peers. On the other hand they advocate and cheerlead for the murder of innocent babies in the womb who receive no due process.

I have to wonder if they see the irony. Probably not.

Maya Harris, Hillary Clinton’s senior policy advisor, affirmed this platform change.

“We are proud that the draft 2016 Democratic Platform, which the drafting committee approved yesterday, represents the most ambitious and progressive platform our party has ever seen, and reflects the issues Hillary Clinton has championed throughout this campaign,” Harris said in a released statement.

She then notes the landmark change in the platform. “And for the first time, the Democratic Party platform explicitly calls for repealing the Hyde Amendment, which restricts access to women’s reproductive rights, particularly low-income women and women of color.”

Abortion advocates like calling pro-lifers radical on abortion, but it’s very clear who the radical party is. It’s not those who advocate for innocent life.
