“Never Trump” means just that – NEVER Trump. I wanted to make it clear that I won’t suddenly change my mind because he is now the nominee. I’ve seen some peg the Never Trump movement as just stopping him at the Republican National Convention. Certainly that was a strategy, and maybe for some that is the case.  It isn’t about stopping him in the general election either. It is simply taking a stand to say this is my line that can’t be crossed. My conscience doesn’t allow me to vote for this candidate. So I will never vote for Donald Trump. I hope all conservatives will have some sort of line they won’t cross regardless of the “R” behind a candidate’s name even if it isn’t the same as mine.

I’ve explained why I am Never Trump numerous times so I won’t belabor that point.

I’m also Never Hillary – I can’t vote for her.

What to do? I’m not sure. There are things like like about the Libertarian candidate, former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson, and a lot that I don’t. I’ve never heard of the Constitution Party candidate. No independent candidate has popped up, so honestly I don’t know what I’m going to do, but I have until this fall to figure it out.

I do plan on supporting down ballot candidates. There are a number I want to see reelected or elected this fall. I am not going to stay home. That is not an option for me. If you are of the same mind I hope you won’t either.

As an unattached independent conservative voice I do plan on providing continued news (just the facts ma’am) and commentary on the race and candidates. I did not sign a loyalty pledge so I don’t owe any presidential candidate anything.  That said I do plan on spending more time on down ballot races if possible. Will I beat up on Donald Trump? Sure, if he deserves it, but I’ll also beat up on Hillary Clinton as well (there’s plenty of material). Heck I’ll even take some shots at third party candidates if they deserve it.

On the other hand if they do or say something praiseworthy I’ll point that out. (Not expecting being able to do that much with Trump or Clinton, but hey even broken clocks are right twice a day.)

Also, I know there are readers who believe differently. By voting their conscience they believe they have to stop Hillary Clinton by voting for Donald Trump for the sake of Supreme Court appointments, etc. I respect that opinion and your right to vote YOUR conscience.  You won’t be attacked by me. I just ask that you show me the same respect and not attack me for voting mine.
