The filing period for state and federal candidates in Iowa concluded at 5:00p this afternoon. The Iowa Secretary of State’s office released the updated list of general election candidates.

Evan McMullin was able to secure enough petition signatures to be on the ballot. Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate also made the ballot, as did the Constitution Party nominee Darrell Castle.

There will be 10 presidential candidates on the Iowa ballot in November.

  • Donald J. Trump/Michael R. Pence (Republican Party)
  • Hillary Clinton/Tim Kaine (Democratic Party)
  • Darrell L. Castle/Scott N. Bradley (Constitution Party)
  • Jill Stein/Ajamu Baraka (Iowa Green Party)
  • Dan R. Vacek/Mark G. Elworth (Legal Marijuana Now Party)
  • Gary Johnson/Bill Weld (Libertarian Party)
  • Lynn Kahn/Jay Stolba (New Independent Party)
  • Gloria La Riva/Dennis J. Banks (Party for Socialism and Liberation)
  • Rocky Roque De La Fuente/Michael Steinberg (Nominated by Petition)
  • Evan McMullin/Nathan Johnson (Nominated by Petition)

There are five candidates running for U.S. Senate.

  • Charles E. Grassley (Republican Party)
  • Patty Judge (Democratic Party)
  • Charles Aldrich (Libertarian Party)
  • Jim Hennager (New Independent Party)
  • Michael Luick-Thrams (Nominated by Petition)

There are two candidates running in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District race.

  • Rod Blum (Republican Party)
  • Monica Vernon (Democratic Party)

There are two candidates running in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District race.

  • Christopher Peters (Republican Party)
  • Dave Loebsack (Democratic Party)

There are five candidates running in Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District race.

  • David Young (Republican Party)
  • Jim Mowrer (Democratic Party)
  • Bryan Jack Holder (Libertarian Party)
  • Claudia Addy (Nominated by Petition)
  • Joe Grandanette (Nominated by Petition)

There are two candidates running in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District race.

  • Steve King (Republican Party)
  • Kim Weaver (Democratic Party)

  1. McMullin’s campaign is in shambles. His backers, which may include fellow Mormon Mitt Romney, have been desperate to have a viable candidate to oppose Trump who doesn’t reflect their positions nearly exactly. They had their opportunity during the primary elections in Ted Cruz but the voters rejected him.

    McMullin et al are embarrassing all of Mormondom. He should quit the race to save any more embarrassment.

    1. For an independent campaign that got started so late I hardly say it is in shambles. They do have an unorthodox strategy though.

      As far as embarrassing all of “Mormondom” (is that even a word), really? Why is that? Because someone decided to run as an independent? How is that embarrassing? Because he’ll probably lose? You really think that will embarrass the entire LDS Church? Please. You know what is embarrassing? The GOP nominee that’s who.
