Donald Trump - Wilmington, NC

Donald Trump stuck his foot in his mouth again, and as usual it is everyone else’s fault except the Donald’s.

This time after a rally in North Carolina Donald Trump is being accused of inciting violence.

“Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks,” Trump said during a rally in Wilmington, NC.

“Though the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know,” he added.

You can watch his remarks in the first half of the video below.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign spokesperson Robby Mook responded, “This is simple – what Trump is saying is dangerous. A person seeking to be the President of the United States should not suggest violence in any way.”

The Trump campaign replied saying the media is being dishonest (as it typically does anytime it gets bad press).

“It’s called the power of unification – 2nd Amendment people have amazing spirit and are tremendously unified, which gives them great political power. And this year, they will be voting in record numbers, and it won’t be for Hillary Clinton, it will be for Donald Trump,”  Jason Miller, Senior Communications Advisor to Trump said in a released statement.

Here’s the problem. If Trump made that comment in the context of getting out to vote before the election there wouldn’t be a problem. Sure liberals may have still have complained and tried to spin it, but it would be pretty defendable. He was talking about unifying before the election to stop anti-2nd Amendment judges from being appointed by voting for Trump.

Unfortunately that wasn’t the context. What did he just get done saying? “If she gets to pick her judges there is nothing you can do.”

Then he said, “Though the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”

Was he joking? I’m sure, but let’s not pretend he was talking about voting. It is the Trump campaign being dishonest, not the media. Take responsibility and admit it was a joke made in poor taste.
