(Dubuque, IA) The reelection campaign for Congressman Rod Blum (R-Iowa) released a new television ad entitled “Bruce Schaal,” in his race in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District against Democratic challenger Monica Vernon. The ad focuses on Blum’s efforts to ensure veterans receive the recognition they deserve.

Schaal, an 83-year-old U.S. Army Veteran, describes Blum’s tireless effort in Congress to make sure that those who have served America are recognized for their dedication to this country.

“Bruce Schaal served our country with honor, and I was humbled to play a part in recognizing his service,” Blum said. “I will continue working hard to serve our veterans like Bruce who I represent in Congress.”

Transcript:

Bruce Schaal: Congressman Blum, he respects the veterans.

There’s a lot of veterans that never got their medals. I’m 83, and I never thought I would get them medals.

When Congressman Blum called me one day and said, “We have your medals down here.” I almost broke down. I still get a little emotional.

It has been 61 years, but Congressman Blum got my medals for me and I appreciate it.

Rod Blum: I am Rod Blum and I approve this message.
