Ben Stein appears in an ad released by U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley’s campaign. Stein, you may remember, played a teacher in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.  Here is the clip of that movie below.

You haven’t seen that movie… What is wrong with you if you haven’t seen that movie???? You must see the movie! Go watch!

Grassley’s new campaign ad is a spoof on the scene above and instead of calling out for Ferris Bueller he calls for Patti Judge instead who is also absent.

This ad is meant to contrast Grassley’s perfect attendance record in the Senate with Patty Judge’s absenteeism.

“Chuck Grassley never plays hooky and always shows up to work,” said Grassley campaign manager Bob Haus. “He holds the longest perfect attendance record with more than 7,600 consecutive votes. Chuck Grassley is Iowa’s star student and he gets an ‘A+’ for his non-stop work for Iowans.”

Patty Judge was marked absent at 76% of State Fair board meetings, missed 69 of 72 meetings of the Iowa Economic Development Commission, missed one out of every five Iowa Executive Council meetings and didn’t show up for five of ten Democratic primary debates.
