Saturdays at the Conservative Political Action Conference are very laid back. Even though many people start to leave and the conference starts coming to an end, there are still highlights to be found. Saturday at CPAC 2017 was no different.

Here are my five highlights from the final day of CPAC:

Blacks for Trump

Throughout the weekend, an interesting group kept popping up: Blacks for Trump. Carrying signs that said ā€˜Blacks for Trump 2020ā€™, roughly about 10 black men were part of this group. They were very vocal, and loved interacting with the other conference goers.

Dog The Bounty Hunter

Saturday afternoon, I ran into a person I hadnā€™t expected to see: Dog the Bounty Hunter. Dog had been at CPAC throughout the week in order to advocate for the Draft Sheriff David Clarke Jr. to Senate campaign. He had been roaming the conference as well, drawing crowds.

Anti-Snowflake Panel

The great thing about the snowflakes on the left is that they melt when they have to face truth and facts. The panel ā€œFacts, Not Feelings: Snowflakes, Safe Spaces, and Trigger Warningsā€ reminded us of this truth and spoke heavily to college students about how to speak out against the spineless safe space advocates on campus. The panel was made up of Amanda Owens (Founder of Future Female Leader), Madison Gesiotto (The Washington Times), Lawrence Jones (The Blaze), Dr. Matthew Spalding (Hillsdale College), and Bryan Bernys (Leadership Institute) as the moderator.

CPAC Straw Poll Results

The results from the CPAC straw poll are always extremely looked forward to. This year focused heavily on Trump, and whether the CPAC goers approved of various policies and actions thus far. Overall, it seemed that most of the attendees at CPAC thought very highly of what President Trump has done in office so far.

Sheriff David Clarke, Jr.

The final speaker at CPAC 2017 was Sheriff David Clarke, sheriff of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. Sheriff Clarke has become a very well known figure, both for his commitment to law and justice in this country, his push for the Blue Lives Matter movement as a black man, and for passionately campaigning for President Trump. Saluting the flag before beginning his speech, Sheriff Clarke encouraged the crowd to keep pursuing Constitutional reform in the country and to share in respect for law and order and support of our president.
