(Washington, DC) Today, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), Chairman of the Senate Armed Services’ Emerging Threats and Capabilities Subcommittee, questioned Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford Jr. on a strategy in Southeast Asia to combat ISIS, and how that strategy can best support our partners in the Asia-Pacific region to stop these bad actors.

Ernst has repeatedly warned of the threat posed by ISIS in Asia and has stressed the importance of strengthening our global partnerships to defeat ISIS.
