This week on Caffeinated Thoughts Radio, Shane Vander Hart and Brian Myers spoke with Kimberly Arms Shirk, author of Remote Fears and Silver Linings. Shirk was a reporter and photographer for ABC WOI-TV 5 in 1997 when she was electrocuted in an accident with one of the station’s remote vans covering a story in Des Moines. This weekend marks 20 years since the accident and Shirk discussed with Brian and Shane what she learned through the numerous surgeries, her recovery, and the time since.

The guys also discuss the Nashville Statement and liberal reaction to it. Shane and Brian also talk about Apple’s investment in Iowa, what it means economically, and the impact it could make on public policy down the road. Plus, 15 Ivy League Professors give incoming college freshmen some incredibly solid advice. The guys also talk about Hurricane Harvey and the response to it.
