Christian author and speaker Becky Tirabassi will keynote the 57th annual Iowa Prayer Breakfast that will be held at the Community Choice Credit Union Center (formerly Veterans Memorial Auditorium) in Des Moines, IA on March 29th, 2018 at 7:15-8:45 am.

The purpose of the Iowa Prayer Breakfast is to bring together Iowa’s governor, state legislators, and community and religious leaders to join with the public to ask God’s direction and blessing upon the state. Starting in 1961, Iowans have continued this beloved tradition, gathering every Maundy Thursday to celebrate the beginning of the Easter weekend. People from all walks of life come to enjoy the reading of Scripture, listen to local vocalists and musicians, and to hear an inspiring message from a selected keynote speaker. Iowa Governor Reynolds Kim Reynolds and U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) have committed to attend this year’s prayer breakfast.

Becky Tirabassi is a nationally renowned speaker on the topic of prayer and a seasoned author of 15 books, with sales of over one million prayer resources throughout her 30-year career. Her personal spiritual disciplines include reading through the Bible over 30 times and praying one hour a day for over 33 years. She has shared her dramatic conversion to Christ in numerous books from the largest Christian platforms in America–such as Billy Graham Crusades, Focus on the Family, and Women of Faith.

The title of Becky Tirabassi’s remarks is “The ‘Not So Secret’ Secret to Powerful and Effective Prayer.”

The cost to attend the Iowa Prayer Breakfast is $25 for adults and $10 for students. The reservation deadline is the end of the business day March 21st. To register, go to www.IowaPrayerBreakfast.com

Each year the Iowa Prayer Breakfast offers this complimentary event the evening prior to the Iowa Prayer Breakfast for students called “The Gathering.” It will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 7:00–8:30 p.m. at Ministerio Nuevo Amanecer (New Dawn Ministries), 3200 Lincoln Ave., Des Moines, IA, 50310.

The theme of The Gathering is “Flip the Script”. The Gathering will include worship music and a special guest appearance by the Iowa Prayer Breakfast keynote speaker, Becky Tirabassi. Church youth pastors, their youth groups, and all interested students are invited to attend. Pastor Al Perez, student event subcommittee chair, said, “The Gathering will have multiple ministries in the Urban Core of Des Moines display unity in Christ. Christ is transforming a culture of victimhood to victorious living in Him and we are looking forward to seeing this moment turn into a movement.” There is no cost and no RSVP required.
