The Iowa Senate Republican Caucus announced that Ed Failor, who served as a senior aide to former Senate Majority Leader Bill Dix (R-Shell Rock), has resigned. He worked for Iowa Senate Republicans since 2012.

“It is in the best interest of the Senate Republican Caucus for me leave my position at this time. I truly enjoyed the more than five years I spent in the Iowa Senate. I am proud of the broad and substantive conservative agenda this chamber has passed on behalf of Iowans,” Failor said. “It is the right time for me to pursue opportunities in the private sector.”

“Ed brought a wealth of knowledge and experience in the legislative and political process. He deserves credit for helping Senate Republicans into the majority and playing a key role in the implementation of a historic, conservative legislative agenda. I thank him for his service in the Senate and look forward to maintaining a strong relationship with him in the future,” Senate President Jack Whitver (R-Ankeny) said.

“The cohesiveness and effectiveness of Senate Republicans allowed us to accomplish our shared priorities,” said Senate Majority Whip Charles Schneider (R-West Des Moines). “Ed’s experience and relationships were critical to that success.”

“Few people have the depth of knowledge Ed possesses on Iowa tax policy and I appreciated his advice as we moved bold, pro-growth tax relief through the Iowa Senate this year,” State Senator Randy Feenstra (R-Hull), chair of the Iowa Senate Ways and Means Committee, added.
