Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley on Tuesday rescheduled the vote on Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court from last Monday to this Friday, September 28, 2018, at 9:30a in Room 226 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.

Grassley did this as a procedural matter.

Steve Vladeck, a law professor at the University of Texas Law School, and legal contributor at CNN, tweeted in response:

Gregg Nunziata, an attorney in Philadelphia, former Senate staffer and Chief Nominations Counsel for the late U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) when he was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, explained why Grassley rescheduled the vote to Friday.
