The Iowa Farm Bureau this week endorsed two Republicans, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig, for the November general election giving them the designation of “Friend of Agriculture.”

Candidates who earn the designation of “Friend of Agriculture” do so by supporting issues that directly impact Iowa’s agricultural economy, farm families, and their communities.
The group noted Reynolds’ track record on agricultural issues. They cited her leadership in passing water quality funding, affordable health care for Iowans, and tax reform that includes provisions they believe will encourage continued economic and job growth.
They noted that since Naig was appointed Secretary of Agriculture by Reynolds he led the successful implementation of the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy that will continue to advance water quality and soil conservation efforts in the state.
