For this episode of the Caffeinated Thoughts Podcast, Shane Vander Hart speaks with Jules Ofenbakh, the Libertarian nominee for Iowa Secretary of State, and Dr. Christopher Peters, a Republican who is running in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District.

Ofenbakh, a Russian immigrant, practices law in West Des Moines. She is in a three-way race with the Republican incumbent Secretary of State Paul Pate and the Democrat nominee Deidra DeJere. 

Peters is a nine-year Army veteran having served as a general surgery resident and staff general surgeon. His family moved to Coralville in 2004 where he practices as a surgeon and owns his a clinic. Peters is challenging incumbent Congressman Dave Loebsack (D-Iowa) for the second time. The district has a four-way race with Mark David Strauss, the Libertarian nominee, and Daniel Clark, an independent.
