Dave Williams is the Democratic nominee in Iowa House District 60. He is challenging State Representative Walt Rogers (R-Cedar Falls) who is running for this fifth term.

He has a sponsored post on Facebook of which I have a screen grab taken by a friend of mine who lives in the district.

“I don’t know how much worse things are going to get,” the text overlaid onto a grim picture of, I assume, the candidate.

Worse? Iowa is the #1 state in the nation according to U.S. & World Report. Iowa has the second lowest unemployment rate in the nation. The Revenue Estimating Conference projects revenue growth the next two fiscal years for the state, and that comes after closing FY 18 with a surplus four times greater than expected. Also, the U.S. is now the world’s most competitive economy for the first time in a decade.

This, of course, is in addition to tax reform at both the state and federal levels.

This is excellent. If this is “worse” I shudder to think what good looks like to him. Whoever told him this was a good idea for a sponsored post is nuts. This may appeal to his base, but I doubt it’s going to be very attractive to independents.
