The midterms are here and like clockwork the Left is using their old bag of tricks.

You think they would have learned after Trump’s win back in 2016. But to conservatives’ benefit, I guess they haven’t.

Everyone associated with the Republican Party is, until Nov 6th, a racist according to the Left. Even I, an African-American woman, have been called “a white supremacist collaborator.” Ridiculous.

People need to know what real racism is though. Because the Left is confusing people.

REAL racism is when a man cleans off the bottle he has because he saw me touch it.

REAL racism is when you refuse to let me come into your home because I’m black even though it means you would also be banning some of your own flesh and blood from joining as well.

REAL racism is when there are people who won’t even stand next to you in line, or breathe the same air you breathe, because you are black.

That’s real racism. I have experienced all of this myself.

I fear we are going to forget what that word really means if we continue to dilute it. And it’s being wrongly used in the nationally coordinated attack against Congressman Steve King.

Several months ago, Steve King asked me to come to his Bud Day Pheasant Hunt. As a gun right activist, it made sense to go. I had an amazing time.

I met Steve King’s family, including his precious grand babies. You can tell a lot about a man based on how well he treats his wife and how important his family is to him. Congressman King treats all of them like I would expect any follower of Christ to do.  After leaving Iowa on Sunday, I even felt like I was part of his family!

At the hunt, I got to see a glimpse of Congressman Steve King’s heart and his love for God, family and country. The incredible story of the three Tanzanian children he helped save with doctor Steve Meyer moved me deeply.

This morning I was reading 1 Samuel 16 in my women’s Bible study group. 1 Samuel 16: 7 reads:

“For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

It’s sad that I have to say this, but I feel this message needs to be said.

We cannot judge someone based on the color of their skin. God’s standard should be applied to all. It is also racist for the Left to insist that because someone is white that they must prove they are not racist.

People ask me all the time about the catalyst that finally made me take the leap and become a vocal Republican. My core beliefs did not change. I was raised a conservative in the Roman Catholic Church.

What changed was not being able to reconcile how the media and Democrats continued to demonize the Right as racists, sexists, and misogynists. When I meet real life Republicans and Libertarians, they aren’t any of those things! They are mentors. They are church leaders. They loved me and my family, even when it was broken. They loved me when I was hurting. That’s what I see. And, I realized, I could no longer ignore the truth.

What if we all did more of what God says he does when he looks on us? He looks at the heart. That would transcend so much in today’s hostile political environment. And that would heal and put America on the right track like it was always intended to be.

From my own experience, Steve King has proven to be a good man. I am thankful I have had the opportunity to get to know the truth about your Congressman.
