DES MOINES, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) today announced former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has accepted her invitation to speak at her campaign kickoff at the 5th Annual Roast and Ride on June 15th at the Central Iowa Expo in Boone. Additional speakers include Governor Kim Reynolds and U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley.

Ernst asked Haley to join the June 15th event as they discuss the work of Ernst and the Trump administration on behalf of Iowans:

About the Ride

The day will start with a motorcycle ride to honor veterans and patriots. Proceeds from the Ride will benefit Retrieving Freedom Inc., a non-profit organization with operations in Iowa that focus on training service dogs to assist veterans and children with autism.

Registration for the Ride will open at 10:00 a.m. CT and the program will start at 11:00 a.m. from Big Barn Harley Davidson in Des Moines. The Ride will be escorted by local law enforcement to ensure safety. It will be about 49 miles, lasting approximately 65 minutes. The scenic Ride will pass Camp Dodge where Senator Ernst served in the Iowa National Guard. Riders will then proceed north, cross the Mile Long Bridge at Saylorville Lake and pass Big Creek State Park. At Madrid, riders will head west and cross the Des Moines River with a view of the famous High Trestle Trail Bridge before continuing on to Central Iowa Expo.

Participation in the Ride is included in the ticket price.

About the Roast

The Roast will take place at the Central Iowa Expo in Boone. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. CT and the program will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 (children 12 and under are free) and can be purchased at RoastAndRide.com. Barbecue, beverages, parking, entertainment featuring Dave Fenley, as well as the option to participate in the Ride are included in the price of admission.
