As we commemorate the horrific events of September 11, 2001, I thought it was appropriate to remember a speech that President George W. Bush, not known for his great oratory skills, gave at Ground Zero, the site of the collapsed twin towers at the World Trade Center in New York City, just three days after the event.

The iconic line: “I can hear you! I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people — and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!”

I believe this was one of Bush’s finest moments as President, and when I think American who may have doubted him realized he was the President we needed at that time.
