VAN METER, Iowa – David Young, Republican candidate for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, announced today he raised $329,000 in the Third Quarter, and has over $564,000 cash on hand entering the final quarter of 2019.
This is the second quarter in a row Young has raised well over $300,000, as well as receiving donations from every county in the district, since he announced his candidacy earlier this year in May.
“I am honored by the show of grassroots and financial support I have received, and the momentum which it represents for our campaign to take back Iowa’s Third Congressional District,” Young said. “When I started this campaign, it was with the encouragement and support of people from all walks of life all throughout the Third Congressional District. These same people work hard to earn every dollar they donated to our campaign, and I will continue to honor their sacrifice and trust and work just as hard to win this seat.”
David Young was elected to serve Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014 and reelected in 2016. Prior to his service in Congress, Young served Iowans as U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley’s Chief of Staff from 2006-2013. A graduate of Johnston High School and Drake University, Young is a seventh generation Iowan and resides in Van Meter.
