HULL, Iowa – State Sen. Randy Feenstra, R-Hull, one of the challengers U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Kiron, in the Iowa 4th Congressional District’s Republican primary announced today his campaign has received the public endorsements of more than 500 Iowans representing all 39 counties in the 4th district.  The Feenstra For Congress County Chairs come from more than 75 communities in the 4th district and include farmers, small business owners, teachers, activists and veterans.

“These Iowans all understand Iowa cannot afford to be voiceless in Washington.  Today, the 4th District lacks representation on the powerful Agriculture Committee and that is unacceptable for our farmers, main streets and our economy,” said Feenstra.

Gerald and Virginia Edgar of Hancock County said, “We are proud to support Randy Feenstra for Congress. Having lived in this district for more than 30 years with involvement in government at the local, county & state level, we know we desperately need a voice at the table in Congress. Randy Feenstra has been a proven and effective leader in the State Senate and we trust he will take his record of conservative results to Congress and deliver results for Iowans.”

Ramona Nitz of Cherokee County added, “I’m proud to endorse Randy Feenstra for Congress. As our hometown State Senator, I’ve seen Randy deliver for our communities and our families. He helped pass the long hoped-for water quality bill without raising taxes and eliminated the grain bin tax for farmers. And now, Iowans need Randy’s conservative leadership in congress. I trust him to be our voice in Washington.”

“Our campaign is building an organization to win – I’m proud to have these Iowans on my team, leading our campaign efforts in all 39 counties in the 4th district,” Feenstra said. “These county chairs join the 257 members of our Students for Feenstra Coalition as part of an unprecedented grassroots movement to deliver a proven, effective, and conservative voice back to Congress.”

Feenstra has a conservative track record in the Iowa Senate. He crafted the largest tax cut in Iowa history.  His campaign has earned the endorsement of former Governor Terry Branstad, conservative leader Bob Vander Plaats  along with Senator Annette Sweeney, Senator Tim Kraayenbrink, Senator Waylon Brown, Representative Dan Huseman, and Representative Megan Jones.

As of the 3rd quarter fundraising report, Feenstra held a 10-to-1 cash on hand advantage over incumbent Congressman Steve King, outraising King in every quarter since the start of the primary campaign.
