VAN METER, Iowa – David Young, Republican candidate for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, announced today he has raised over $1 million since announcing his candidacy on May 6, 2019. Though only being in the race for just under eight months, this is a record haul for Young in a non-election year.

Young raised over $340,000 in the fourth quarter of 2019. This is the third quarter in a row he raised over $325,000 with contributions from all 16 counties in the Third Congressional District.

“I want to thank each and every person who contributed to our campaign,” Young said. “Every dollar not only represents a vote of confidence in our campaign and mission, but also a desire to change representation for the Third Congressional District. We will continue to push every day on the long road still to go before the first votes are cast. But we will win this seat in November and ensure this district is well represented again in the halls of Congress.”

Aside from the thousands of Iowans across the Third Congressional District supporting David Young, he has been endorsed by Senator Chuck Grassley and Senator Joni Ernst, as well as Governor Kim Reynolds and Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig.

David Young was elected to serve the Third Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014 and reelected in 2016. Prior to his service in Congress, Young served Iowans as U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley’s Chief of Staff from 2006-2013. A graduate of Johnston High School and Drake University, Young is a seventh generation Iowan and resides in Van Meter.
