SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Jeremy Taylor, a Republican candidate running in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District, announced his campaign demonstrated grassroots strength during Monday’s Iowa Republican Caucus by blanketing precincts in the district.

Taylor, 41, of Sioux City is a former state representative and current Woodbury County Supervisor. He also serves as chaplain in the Iowa Army National Guard. He is running in a five-way primary for the Republican nomination in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District race that includes incumbent U.S. Rep. Steve King, 70, of Kiron.

He said they leveraged the support of over 50 of the campaign’s co-chairs, that included central committee members and elected officials, who collected signatures and represented the campaign at their precinct caucuses.

In addition to conservative activists including veterans, pastors, and home school families, Taylor said the campaign’s representation in precinct caucuses included the ISU College Republicans and members of the business community such as:

  • Iowa State College Republican President Ryan Hurley
  • Calhoun County Supervisor Carl Legore
  • Greene County Central Committee member Pastor Charles Thompson
  • Clay County Central Committee Co-Chair Kevin Brown
  • Dickinson County Central Committee Co-Chair Barb Clayton and Secretary Jan Bowles
  • Palo Alto County Central Committee Co-Chair and Ruthven Mayor David Kirk
  • 4th District Executive Committee Chairman and Palo Alto County Central Committee Chair Jesse Wolfe
  • Boone County Central Committee Co-Chair Todd Rasmussen
  • Boone City Councilmen Terry Moorman and Steven P. Ray
  • Kossuth County Central Committee Co-Chair Carter Nath
  • Kossuth County Central Committee Co-Chair Pastor Todd Hartsock
  • Co-Chair Trump Iowa Campaign Colonel Brian Miller
  • Carroll County Central Committee member Wayne Herman
  • Fort Dodge City Councilman Kim Alstott
  • Ida County Central Committee member Lori Leonard Reyman
  • Shelby County Central Committee Secretary Larry Trickel
  • Crawford County Central Committee Chair Maura Sailer
  • Cerro Gordo County Central Committee member Emily Peters
  • Woodbury County Central Committee Co-Chair Shaun Broyhill and Treasurer Dan Lynde

“I am truly honored by the support of voters all across the Fourth District. We continue to build the best grassroots organization in the race and it is clear that momentum is on our side. Our message of a strong constitutional conservative who will effectively represent Iowa’s 4th District in Congress, fight socialism, and proudly stand for Iowa’s values is resonating in every corner of the district. Iowans know that our campaign is best positioned to defeat J.D. Scholten in November,” Taylor said.
