DES MOINES, Iowa – On Saturday, the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports 181 additional COVID-19 cases bringing the statewide total to 2,513 cases in 82 counties. Of those new cases, 78 are middle-age adults (41-61), 65 are adults (18-41), 26 are older adults (61-81), eight are children (0-17), and four are elderly (81+).

The new cases were reported in the following counties: Allamakee (7), Black Hawk (28), Bremer (3), Cedar (2), Clay (1), Clinton (1), Dallas (1), Dubuque (3), Guthrie (1), Hardin (1), Henry (1), Howard (2), Iowa (2), Jasper (5), Johnson (19), Jones (1), Keokuk (2), Linn (28), Louisa (8), Marion (1), Marshall (8), Muscatine (13), Osceola (1), Plymouth (2), Polk (16), Poweshiek (1), Scott (4), Tama (2), Wapello (1), Warren (1), Washington (4), Webster (1), Woodbury (10).

IDPH announced an additional 974 negative tests for a total of 20,434 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs.

They report an additional ten Iowans have died as a result of the disease bringing the number of COVID-19 related fatalities in the state to 74. IDPH identified those who passed away as one older adult in Appanoose County, one middle-age adult and two elderly adults in Linn County, one older adult in Louisa County, one elderly adult in Muscatine County, one elderly adult and two older adults in Polk County, and one middle-age adult in Tama County.

IDPH also reports that 193 are currently hospitalized, and 1,095 Iowans have recovered. They also report one additional long-term care (LTC) facility outbreak, bringing the total number of LTC outbreaks to ten. The Bishop Drumm Retirement Center in Polk County reports six cases of COVID-19.

They also report that 26 Iowans were admitted to the hospital due to COVID-19. There are currently 84 patients in ICU and 51 patients on ventilators. Statewide there are 7,936 inpatient beds, 548 ICU beds, and 682 ventilators available.
