Iowans will remember back in October when Matt Leopold, the campaign manager for State Senator Randy Feenstra’s congressional campaign in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District, in a release said, he said U.S. Rep. Steve King is “desperate” and resorts to the “liberal tactic of shopping fake polls to news media just like they’ve done repeatedly in an effort to discredit President Trump.”

Randy Feenstra, who ironically has the most anti-Trump supporters, has failed to make traction among conservative activists while relying on a Jeb Bush-style campaign with lots of money but little connectedness and grassroots support.

Conversely, Iowans remember the campaigns of Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum, both of whom put in the hard work with worn-out shoestrings. The results will be the same (Huckabee and Santorum won Iowa while Jeb Bush finished last).

I will continue to rely on the over 500 volunteers and supporters of Team Taylor (to include over 100 veterans and Soldiers) and continue our grassroots momentum. Our over 17,000 miles and 75 events continue to show the hard work that has translated into a true grassroots movement.

Our campaign just placed over 500 yard signs in the Woodbury County area alone.

After having earned the distrust of conservatives for attacking Steve King on CNN’s Don Lemon, taking money from the liberal Main Street PAC, and waffling badly when pressed on taking clear and bold positions, (transcript link here), Feenstra’s camp will continue to try to craft an alternate narrative.

There’s a reason Feenstra is spending so much money in the Sioux City market—and it’s not Steve King who is his problem. I look forward to debating Randy Feenstra on the issues and comparing our records, which will demonstrate who will be an authentic constitutionalist who can lead in Congress.
