MARION, Iowa – On Wednesday night, Congresswoman-Elect Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, learned that she tested positive for COVID-19.

She said that she feels great and that she is quarantining at her home in Marion until advised otherwise by her physician.

Hinson said she will participate virtually in the new member orientation for the 117th Congress and is ready to get to work on behalf of the taxpayers of Iowa’s 1st Congressional District.

It is unclear where Hinson was exposed to the coronavirus, but the state is experiencing significant community spread with a 14-day average positivity rate of 22.2 percent among those tested.
