imageCouncil Bluffs, Iowa – December 10, 2010 – Secretary of State-Elect, Matt Schultz, announced today that Mary Mosiman, the Story County Auditor, will serve as the Deputy of Elections for the Secretary of State.

"I’m excited that Mary Mosiman has agreed to serve as my Deputy of Elections. Mary is no stranger to elections in Iowa, she has been the Story County Auditor and Election Commissioner since 2001. With her experience as a County Auditor, Mary will bring great skills and professionalism with her that will help ensure that elections are administered fairly and honestly in Iowa," said Matt Schultz.

“I am honored for the opportunity to serve as the Deputy of Elections, and to be working with Matt Schultz for the citizens of Iowa. Matt successfully campaigned all across this State on the issues of accuracy, integrity, and enhanced public service. I fully support his objectives and will be proud to help achieve these goals. I also value the significance of the local County Auditors; they provide the foundation for a well-run election. I’m pleased that the State election team will include Sarah Reisetter, who has provided exemplary service to the County Auditors for the last several years. Together we will look forward to serving Iowa with Secretary-Elect Schultz," said Mary Mosiman.

Matt Schultz has spent many hours with his transition team restructuring the office, reviewing resumes, and conducting interviews to fill a limited number of positions. Next week Schultz will announce additional appointments in the Secretary of State’s office.
