If former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee was going to run for President in 2012 isn’t it strange that he is launching a new company just as the primary race is starting up? Yet it was announced today that he is launching a new educational company, Learn Our History, LLC.
A press release sent out said he co-founded the company as a way to address shortcomings in the way American History is taught in the classroom. The company’s mission is “to give children of all ages a fun way to learn – and remember – America’s most influential stories, without the filters or biases that too often infiltrate history and social studies classes across the country today.”
He will be discuss the launch of the company on The O’Reilly Factor on Fox News tomorrow night at 7:00p/10:00p (CST). Huckabee in a statement said of the launch.
America’s youth aren’t excited about our past because they’re being taught history in a way that minimizes what has made America a beacon of hope around the world for over 200 years. Instead, history lessons today often focus on America’s faults. It’s impossible to overestimate the importance of giving our children a historically accurate and unbiased education that allows kids today to enjoy and understand our history, and build their pride in our great nation.
Now it is quite possible that he will be just the face of the new company and not have much to do with its day to day operations. But this along with continuing on as the host of Huckabee on Fox News, along with no upcoming appearances in Iowa made public makes it hard for me to believe he is actually going to run. I could certainly be wrong, but I don’t see any indications he’s making that move. Actually, quite the opposite.
