Apparently Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) will not be at the Polk County Republican’s Robb Kelly dinner due to a vote on the Patriot Act.  I have heard that she will try to do a video link greeting/remarks.  We’ll see if that happens.

This is understandable, but I expect that she will receive some blowback for the people who shelled out money expecting to see her.  This is the pitfall of considering a presidential run while still holding another office.

Update: Mixed reaction regarding her missing, some believe it is an indication she isn’t serious about running.  Another person reminded me that her best friend in Congress, Congressman Steve King (R-IA) missed his own son’s wedding to vote on the health care bill.  He said that is common with passionate people and we shouldn’t read anything into her absence.
