Students who attend Northeast Middle School in Bristol, Connecticut were given a worksheet on the Second Amendment that teaches Americans don’t have the right to keep and bear arms.
Here are some of the statements:

“The courts have consistently determined that the Second Amendment does not ensure each individual the right to bear arms.”

“The courts have never found a law regulating the private ownership of weapons unconstitutional.”

“This means that the rights of this amendment are not extended to the individual citizens of the states. So a person has no right to complain about a Second Amendment violation by state laws.”
The father who blew the whistle on this worksheet is Steven Boibeaux, whose son is an 8th grader at the school and was given the worksheet “The Second Amendment Today.” Boibeaux found the worksheet when he was going through his son’s homework.
“I am appalled,” Boibeaux told Fox News. “It sounds to me like they are trying to indoctrinate our kids. “
Yes it does. The worksheet also states that the Second Amendment “only provides the right of a state to keep an armed National Guard.”
Worst of all it says, ““The judges and courts of each generation provide the interpretation of the document.”
That statement is scary in itself – that judges can determine what our rights are. No our rights are inalienable. They are ours. Government doesn’t give them to us. They recognize them and are supposed to protect them.
In fact our right to keep and bear arms was written with an armed rebellion in mind when we overthrew a government that infringed on our rights.
Militias sure, but also individuals, and contrary to what the worksheet says, the Supreme Court has been very consistent in recognizing the individual right to keep and bear arms. District of Columbia v. Heller and McDonald v. Chicago are two recent cases.
Ellen Solek, the superintendent of Bristol Public Schools told Fox News that the assignment has been pulled from the school.
“It is no longer an assignment in that particular school,” she said, noting that it was an “administration decision in the best interest of the district.”
She refused to answer any questions about the content of the lesson, how it became a part of the curriculum or how many students were assigned the lesson. She also refused to acknowledge whether the school will apologize to students and parents.
So not only is this indoctrination, but it is factually incorrect. Another example of public school failure, and they can’t even acknowledge their error.
