There are many indications that what we have come to know as the Obama Administration may be coming apart at the seams. As more and more information is revealed about the Boston bombing, Benghazi, and the Affordable Care Act plus the reversal in the Senate on gun control, one might think that perhaps the slide off the ledge has been slowed if not stopped.

As more is revealed about the internals of the 840 page immigration bill, we are also being apprised of just how incredibly misguided this legislation is. ā€œPublic Chargeā€ requirementsā€”that immigrants must not come here unless they can support themselvesā€”is waived in the proposed legislation. This factor alone is enough to defeat the bill. If the current numbers hold, 7-8 million of the illegal immigrants currently in the country will move almost immediately onto the welfare rolls. This means an additional $200 billion a year just to support the newly registered residents. Already, illegal immigration is costing state and local governments some $100 billion a year in public health, safety and education costs. Increasing access to all the means-tested programs will nearly triple that cost. Every man, woman and child in the country will have to come up with an additional $1000 each year to support those rewarded for breaking the law. How many families will miss out on vacations, tuition, dental work, etc., just to pay for someone who broke the law? Sooner or later, these costs begin to take a toll on people and when people canā€™t take care of their own families, they donā€™t really want to take care of those who have gained advantage by breaking the law.

Lost in all of this may be the fact that some in the media might be getting a whiff of all the rotting carcasses of failed programs and massive deceptions perpetrated by this administration. Time and again, we find out that federal agencies fumbled the ball in Boston and that keeping the secrets of Benghazi is getting harder and harder. Sooner or later, we will know what happened that day and who ought to be accountable for the deaths of four brave Americans. Like Oz behind the current, we are learning that this president and his minions are really charlatans without moral centers. Shameful.
