(Sioux City, IA) While families in Iowa are already beginning to feel the effects of the job-killing Obamacare, Congressman Braley and the Republican candidates vying to replace Senator Harkin have unfortunately either been on the wrong side of the issue, have issued conflicting statements or have been curiously silent. In contrast and with the realization that now is not the time to add more timid or wrongheaded politicians to the current Washington class, Sam Clovis today signed the Senate Conservatives Fund’s Pledge to defund Obamacare and echoed his previous comments in support of Senator Mike Lee’s efforts to do the same.

Sam Clovis, Republican candidate for US Senate, released the following statement:

“Washington isn’t working, and it won’t work until we send someone there with the experience, commitment, leadership qualities and principles to change the way it does business. I am not a career politician – anything but – and I truly believe my opponents in this race are good people.  However, right now we need leaders willing to put their personal ambitions aside and only focus on what is good for Iowans and for our country. That’s why I challenge Congressman Braley and my fellow candidates in this race to sign the pledge to defund Obamacare and make a strong statement in support of Senator Mike Lee’s efforts to do the same.”
