Des Moines, IA – Iowa Governor Terry Branstad in an interview with CNN had a blunt assessment of Vice President Joe Biden’s chances to win the 2016 Iowa Caucuses should he decide to run.

“ Biden is dead meat out here. He is not going anywhere,” Branstad said during an interview with CNN on Wednesday in his Statehouse office.

“Washington, D.C. is extremely unpopular,” Branstad said. “Biden is so associated with this administration and all of its failures. He was unpopular before and he is even less popular now.”

Regarding Hillary Clinton he thought her ties to Washington would be her undoing as well.

“I am probably not the one to ask about a Democratic caucus because I have never been to one,” he said. “But in terms of the electorate here, I think that Washington D.C. is extremely unpopular, and she is associated with Washington D.C. and served in (Obama’s) administration.”
