Dubuque, IA – Today Rod Blum, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in Iowa’s First District, announced a campaign fundraising total-to-date of over $225,000. The campaign will report over $175,000 cash on hand and over $60,000 in contributions for the quarter ending December 31st. The campaign has now received over 1,000 individual contributions, with over 97% of the donations coming from voters residing in the First District.

“I am pleased to report that our financial position is on target heading into the election year,” said Blum. “Our consistent message of personal responsibility, economic freedom, and constitutionally-limited government continues to resonate with Eastern Iowans who are tired of career politicians and are looking instead for principled, authentic leaders from the private sector.”

“With another strong quarterly total and the fiscal discipline to retain the vast majority of the funds for the election season, this campaign continues to assemble the resources necessary to win back this open seat for the GOP,” added the campaign’s Director of Operations, Paul Smith. “We look forward to building on this momentum in 2014.”

Rod Blum is a Republican candidate for United States Congress in Iowa’s 1st District. Rod graduated with a finance degree from Loras College and received his MBA from the University of Dubuque. A lifelong resident of Dubuque and current owner of Digital Canal Corporation, he is married to Karen Blum and has five children. For more information please visit:www.RodBlum.com.
