Joni Ernst, Republican candidate for the United States Senate, made the following statement on news reporting that payrolls rose less than expected during the month of January:

“We have seen stagnation or very modest improvements at the national level – but not enough is being done to ensure more of our hard working neighbors have a job to go to each morning. Well, in Iowa, we are down from over 6% down to 4.2% – now fifth lowest in the nation – by enacting smart, sensible policies.”

Joni helped Governor Branstad pass the largest tax decrease in state history ($4.4 billion returned to hard working families and small businesses) and has put an end to burdensome regulations that has helped lead to the arrival of new businesses and the expansion of already existing Iowa employers like Google.

While Bruce Braley continues to support Obamacare, the highest tax increase in our nation’s history, and her primary opponent, Mark Jacobs, has strongly advocated for job killing cap and trade legislation, Joni Ernst wants to bring these proven Iowa values to Washington in order to get our great nation back on track.
