(Des Moines, IA) The momentum behind electing Iowa’s first female U.S. Senator continues to build. Today, the Joni Ernst for U.S. Senate campaign announces that we’ve raised $1.78 million for the second quarter of 2014. Joni, who is currently on active duty at Fort McCoy, only had 26 days after winning the five way primary to fundraise as the Republican nominee.

“After raising $1.78 million from over 9,500 donors, we are honored and thankful that so many people across Iowa and our nation stand with Joni Ernst and her plan to bring her Iowa Values to Washington to help get our great nation turned around,” said Joni Ernst campaign spokeswoman Gretchen Hamel.

“While President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi are all going to bat for Bruce Braley and the trial lawyers and other D.C. liberal interest groups are stuffing his campaign coffers and airing ads on his behalf, we are proud that a mother and a grandmother, a Lt. Colonel and battalion commander in the Iowa Army National Guard who has previously deployed to Iraq and Kuwait, and a southwest Iowa State Senatorwas able to get so much support to take on entrenched Washington politician Braley.”
