Linn County Republicans held a special nominating convention for Senate District 33, and Harry Foster won the nomination. Foster is a former small business owner, and a retired Army Reserves officer. He has deployed three times in the service of his country after 9/11. He is currently a facilities manager for non-profit organization.
Senate Republican Leader Bill Dix, R-Shell Rock, congratulated Harry Foster today on his special nomination convention victory this morning in Senate District 33.
“For the past few months, I have had a chance to visit and get to know Harry Foster,” Dix said. “He is a veteran and a man of integrity. The more I talk with Harry, the more I believe the voters in Senate District 33 have a candidate who has their best interests at heart.”
“Harry understands the importance of fostering an environment for economic growth and private sector job creation as well as creating a legacy of opportunity for all Iowans,” Dix said. “We are excited to welcome Harry to the race, and we look forward to working with him to be successful in November.”
Foster challenges incumbent State Senator Robert Hogg (D-Cedar Rapids) in the general election.
