Sarah Palin launched her own online TV channel – the Sarah Palin Channel.  The former Governor of Alaska and 2008 Vice Presidential candidate made the announcement yesterday by video.

Palin said in a statement accompanying the video on Facebook, “Tired of media filters? Well, so am I. So, let’s go rogue together and launch our own member-supported channel! This will be OUR channel, for you and for me, and we’ll all get to call it like it is.”

Palin since 2008 has had an unconventional approach to media.  She has been known for bypassing the “mainstream media” by making announcements and posting articles on Facebook.  This just seems to be another extension of that philosophy.

She’s following in the footsteps of Glenn Beck who launched The Blaze TV, radio and website back in 2011.  The Blaze TV is now carried on Dish Network and regional cable networks.

It costs $9.95/month or $99.95 a year to subscribe.  Members of the military can subscribe for free.

The Sarah Palin Channel is part of the TAPP, an online TV outlet that will focus on niche channels, founded by Jeff Gaspin, former chairman of NBC Universal, and Jon Klein who was President of CNN/US.
