(Des Moines, IA) Today, the Joni Ernst for Senate campaign announced that it raised approximately $6 million in the third quarter, more than doubling the total raised by her opponent, Congressman Bruce Braley, and setting an all-time Iowa record for the amount raised by a statewide candidate in one quarter.

“I’m incredibly thankful for the substantial outpouring of support,” Ernst said. “People are joining our campaign because they know the status quo in Washington isn’t working. As we enter the final stretch, we have the momentum we need to take the Iowa way to Washington.”

The Ernst campaign began October with over $3 million cash on hand. Her third quarter fundraising includes donations from all 99 of Iowa’s counties with 85% raised from small donors.

BY THE NUMBERS …

  • Team Joni raised a Total of $6.01 Million for the Third Quarter of 2014;
    $5.71 Million for the General and $302,000 for Primary Debt
  • Team Joni currently has over $3.2 Million Cash On Hand
  • This is the 4th Quarter that Joni has received Donations from All of Iowa’s 99 Counties
  • The Average Donation to Team Joni was $195 and 86 Percent of All Donations were Under $200

Despite being outspent on television by liberal special interest groups, the fundraising record comes after weeks of good news for Ernst’s Senate campaign. Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball recently shifted the Iowa Senate race to “Lean Republican.” Sabato had originally rated the race “Lean Democrat” and moved it to “Toss Up” in July.  Ernst has led Braley in the latest public polls, with the Real Clear Politics average having her up by 1.2 percent.
