I get pretty discouraged from time to time when I consider what appears to be the complete disintegration of our culture. But then I’m reminded of a good friend of mine, who will occasionally go into a rant about something awful that’s going on, but always finishes what he says with the words “but God is in control.” He’s right, of course. There are indeed troubling things we hear and read about every day, but none of these things have somehow escaped God’s notice. We see in Isaiah 45: verses 6-7 He controls all things and we see in Romans 8:28 that all these things are for our good. This is a source of great comfort when things seem especially disheartening.
