Yesterday several Iowa State University students signed a petition to end women’s suffrage on International Women’s Day no less.  Turning Point USA, a non-profit student organization started to educate students about the importance of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and limited government, released an accompanying video:

Carrie Lane Chapman Catt, an instrumental leaders in the women’s suffrage movement which led to the 19th Amendment, attended Iowa State University.  She’s probably rolling in her grave.

Perhaps these students should ask for a tuition refund or at the very least look up the definition of a word before being gung-ho to sign a petition.  Had they done that they would have known they were signing a petition asking ISU and the State of Iowa to pursue policies that end a women’s right to vote.

Jake Dagel, Iowa Field Coordinator for Turning Point USA, was responsible for the petition and video said that he had two pages of signatures in just a few hours.

“Students who often demand equal rights for women don’t understand the history of the movement,” Dagel said. “These students failed to recognize that they were signing a petition to end a woman’s right to vote.”

Oh vey
Pretty sure these women below would not have signed Jake’s petition.  I’m glad to see that there were a few students in the video who recognized the sham.
