“Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD,” (Psalm 102:18, ESV).

Rosaria Champagne Butterfield was a former atheist, liberal, lesbian professor of English and women’s studies at Syracuse University until she encountered Christ.  She was a holdout on the subject of abortion until she was convicted by the word of God.  She explains how she came to a realization that abortion was wrong she sung Psalm 102 at Syracuse Reformed Presbyterian Church.

“So there we were singing Psalm 102, and there is a line in Psalm 102 that people yet unborn will bless and magnify the Lord, (Psalm 102: 18).  I sang those and all of a sudden I understood that the reason abortion was a sin is because it denied people the opportunity to bless and magnify God, and in fact, in some ways, that is why murder is a sin.  I mean we all sort of know murder is a sin.  We don’t want to be murdered and we don’t want to be murderers, but ultimately the reason it is a sin is because it attacks the image of God in another human being. And it denies them the opportunity to sing praises to the Lord who made them, and after I sang those words I was just not the same,” Butterfield told The Gospel Coalition in a video they published today.
