Thayer was fired from Planned Parenthood of the Heartland because she refused to do webcam abortions.

(Des Moines, IA) Iowa Right to Life announced on Monday afternoon that Sue Thayer, a former Iowa Planned Parenthood center manager, has joined their staff as a lead strategist.

Sue Thayer is no stranger to Iowa Right to Life. She first called the pro-life organization anonymously several years ago. During that phone call, Thayer shared her horror over Planned Parenthood of the Heartland’s latest scheme-webcam abortions.

Upon her refusal to perform dangerous webcam abortions, she was fired. She is currently embroiled in a $5.5 billion Medicaid lawsuit against her former employer, Planned Parenthood of Heartland.

Since her firing, Thayer has gone on to become a leading statewide and national Pro-Life leader. She tirelessly speaks the truth about the dangers of the abortion industry and how Iowa’s Planned Parenthood has gone to great lengths to deceive women.

A talented writer, Sue has written her first article in her role as Iowa Right to Life’s Lead Strategist. entitled “Planned Parenthood. Profit. No matter what.” In it, she has written an articulate response to a recent piece for the Iowa Daily Democrat by Debbie Gitchell, a Planned Parenthood of the Heartland member.

“Sue Thayer is truly a remarkable woman. If not for her courage, webcam abortions would have exploded across Iowa and throughout the nation,” stated Jenifer Bowen, Executive Director of Iowa Right to Life. “Instead we have seen their plan begin to implode. Learn more about “The decline of an abortion empire in Iowa” on page 5 here.”

“Since 2012, we have seen Planned Parenthood of the Heartland shrink from 26 locations down to 13. They also never opened any of the 6 additional locations they announced in 2011. Further, we have seen Iowa abortion rates plummet 40% since 2007. Iowa Right to Life is thrilled to partner with Sue Thayer. With her knowledge of the Iowa abortion industry and her boundless passion for all human lives, born and unborn, we will continue to see even more great victories for life,” concluded Bowen.
