Trump Receives “Coveted” Christie Endorsement

The remaining candidates in the GOP field I’m sure were hoping, praying, that they would be the ones who would receive the coveted endorsement of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

Ok, not really, but it is better than being all but endorsed by white nationalist and former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke, but I digress. Christie today bestowed his coveted endorsement on Donald Trump.

One blowhard faux conservative endorses another.

“Donald is a leader. He is a successful person that, like me, isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. Our system is broken and it won’t be fixed from the inside. I am proud to offer my endorsement of his candidacy for President,” Christie said.

Trump responded, “It is my great honor to receive the endorsement of the Governor. We have had a wonderful relationship for many years. He is a solid person that I have tremendous respect for. I am really proud to receive the support of the Governor and his family.”

Let’s remember it wasn’t all sunshine and lolly pops between Christie and Trump. Christie back in August said that Trump was not suited to be President.

“A CEO’s mentality, while it has some utility, if it has never been used in the governmental structure and understands the give-and-take that government has to have, I think it’s just going to be frustrated and ineffective,” Christie said at the RedState Gathering.

“I like him. I think he’s a good guy. I think he’s got a lot of skills. But I just don’t think for this. I think he’s not right for this,” Christie added.

I guess a lot has changed in just a few months, some how Trump gained some governing experience that we were unaware of.

Then we shouldn’t forget what Trump had to say about Christie back in December:

Trump, who also lambasted the publisher of the state’s largest newspaper who endorsed Christie last month, blasted the New Jersey governor’s record, pointed to the state’s credit downgrades and alleged that Christie’s denial of involvement in the “Bridgegate” controversy is difficult to believe.

He also reminded New Hampshire of Christie’s infamous embrace of President Barack Obama in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in 2012, which came in the closing weeks of the presidential campaign and was seen by some Republicans as a political betrayal of the GOP nominee, Mitt Romney. Christie, Trump suggested, was excited to ride on the president’s helicopter.

“It was unbelievable,” he said of Christie. “He was like a little boy.”

It makes you wonder what deal was made between the two.
