(Des Moines, IA) Approximately 250 people attended Progress Iowa’s annual Corn Feed at the Simon Estes Amphitheater on the Des Moines River in downtown Des Moines. All of the Democrat candidates running for the House of Representatives and U.S. Senate were present for the event. The primarily liberal audience heard stump speeches from Congressman Dave Loebsack, Monica Vernon, Jim Mowrer, Kim Weaver, and Patty Judge.

Congressman Dave Loebsack (D-Iowa) represents Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District. He is being challenged by Dr. Christopher Peters.

Monica Vernon is challenging Congressman Rod Blum (R-Iowa) in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District race.

Jim Mowrer is challenging Congressman David Young (R-Iowa) in Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District race.

Kim Weaver is challenging Congressman Steve King in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District race.

Former Lt. Governor Patty Judge is challenging U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) in Iowa’s U.S. Senate race.
