Shane Vander Hart and Brian Myers this week on Caffeinated Thoughts Radio discuss the debate within the Southern Baptist Convention over Calvinism with Noah Braymen, an elder at Redeemer Baptist Church in West Des Moines. What does it mean to be a Calvinist? What does it mean to be an Arminian? What does it mean to be Reformed? Can one be a Calvinist and still be a Southern Baptist?

Brian and Shane also discussed Pastor Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas, TX, call to move away from the debate on same-sex marriage. Jeffress was an early supporter of Donald Trump who has also taken a detente position on that issue as well.

Also, the guys talk about Iowa Governor Terry Branstad’s appointment to be U.S. Ambassador to China and what that means for Iowa.
