Scaramucci Is Out of The White House

Ten days after the White House announced Anthony Scaramucci as the new Communications Director he is shown the door.

“Anthony Scaramucci will be leaving his role as White House Communications Director. Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team. We wish him all the best,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a released statement.

President Donald Trump hires all of the best people, all the best.

He had a capable press secretary quit as a result of Anthony Scaramucci being hired as the White House Communications Director. Sean Spicer wasn’t perfect, but he was doing an admirable job in a role that is ordinarily a tough one made impossible by the current occupant of the Oval Office.

He advised, wisely, against Scaramucci’s hiring.

There was absolutely nothing in Scaramucci’s background that suggested he was qualified to be White House Communications Director. Nothing. No job. No education, and no experience beyond being a Trump apologist on “the shows.”

He got the job because he stroked Trump’s ego and Trump being Trump wants to surround himself with people who stroke his ego.

But he wasn’t even remotely qualified.

Then, after Scaramucci’s phone call with Ryan Lizza with The New Yorker the cynical among us wondered if Scaramucci’s role was to make President Trump look reasonable in comparison. If that was the case mission accomplished.

Reading that article made my eyes bleed and for the life of me, I could not understand why the White House Communications Director would say what he said to a journalist. And, not just any journalist, but one with one of the most liberal outlets in the country.

Then Scaramucci said he would never trust a reporter again. Did he think his phone conservation would not be reported on? There are three little words that could have prevented this, and proves he didn’t know what he was doing, he could have told Ryan Lizza that his phone conversation was “off the record.”

If Lizza agreed then proceed (with a rational conservation, not the actual conversation that took place). If Lizza didn’t agree then say, “well I guess there is nothing to talk about” and hang-up.

For all of the complaints about leakers in the White House, Scaramucci ironically ended up being one of the worst.

And now he’s gone out the door following Reince Priebus who had one of the shortest, if not the shortest, tenures as Chief of Staff. I’ve had leftovers in my fridge last longer than he did in the White House. This has to be some kind of a record.
