I thought I would launch our first straw poll for the 2018 Iowa Republican Governor’s Race. I’m limiting this to just the Republican primary because last time I offered a Democrat poll we had so few participants, it wasn’t worth reporting. I do not include the Libertarian Party because, as of right now, there is only one candidate.

After the primary next summer, I will offer a general election survey.

The current Republican field includes Governor Kim Reynolds, Cedar Rapids Mayor Ron Corbett, and Boone Mayor Pro Tem Steven Ray.

I’m also curious whether you look favorably or unfavorably on the gubernatorial candidates, President Donald Trump, Iowa House Republicans, and Iowa Senate Republicans.

Along with the Governor’s race, I’m asking Iowa Republicans their views on marriage, life, school choice, Common Core, religious liberty, and corporate income tax reform.

So thank you in advance for participating. The poll will close on 12:00 am (CDT) on Thursday, August 17, 2017.  I plan to write about the results the following day.
