Congressman Rod Blum (R-Iowa) on Thursday received endorsements from FreedomWorks and the American Conservative Union in the Iowa 1st Congressional District Race.

ā€œRep. Blum is a strong, principled leader and FreedomWorks for America is proud to support such a staunch defender of the Constitution. He is a true champion of liberty. We need him in Washington more than ever to help drain the swamp,ā€ Jason Pye, Vice President of Legislative Affairs with FreedomWorks said.

ā€œFreedomWorks works extremely hard to promote fiscal responsibility, respect for our Constitution, and freedom from burdensome regulations in Washington, D.C.– a place where these values can be rare. I am honored to receive their support and look forward to working together to advance liberty in the future,ā€ Blum commented.

FreedomWorks for America is the PAC associated with FreedomWorks. FreedomWorks, located in Washington, DC, was founded in 1984 as Citizens for a Sound Economy that shifted from being a think tank for the liberty movement to become a service center for the grassroots freedom movement across the whole country.

The American Conservative Union also announced their endorsement of Blum’s re-election campaign.

ā€œRod Blum has represented Iowans with courage and conviction and fights for the values that we share.  You can count on him to put Iowa first, defending Life, the Second Amendment, and the Rule of Law.  Rod’s commonsense and consistent approach to leadership is critical in maintaining an economy where both families and businesses can continue to prosper.  We’re honored to stand with Rod Blum and endorse his reelection in November.ā€ ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp said.

Founded in 1964, the American Conservative Union (ACU) is the nation’s original conservative organization.  For more than fifty years, ACU has served as an umbrella organization harnessing the collective strength of conservative organizations fighting for Americans who are concerned with liberty, personal responsibility, traditional values, and strong national defense.
