SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Republican congressional candidate Jeremy Taylor announced that he would deploy for three weeks of training in Romania with the Iowa Army National Guard beginning on May 31. During that time Taylor said he would pause his campaign.
Taylor, a Woodbury County Supervisor and former state legislator, seeks the Republican nomination in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District challenging U.S. Rep. Steve King of Kiron. Taylor serves as a chaplain in the Iowa Army National Guard and holds the rank of captain.
āI am proud to once again be serving our country on active duty with the Army National Guard.Ā Through my time with the Guard, I see the sacrifices of the men and women who secure our freedoms. Iām called to serve as their chaplain and consider it a privilege.Ā I will be returning to the campaign trail in three weeks and picking up where we left off, with meetings in every county at the grassroots level,” Taylor said.
